Why Choose Backstreet Performing Arts?
- Backstreet Performing Arts has highly trained and motivated teachers. Here at Backstreet, we don’t need to advertise for teachers, they seek us out. We have a reputation as a warm, friendly, family oriented studio, and those who teach here all share the same values.
- Our staff is composed of teachers with MFA’s in dance and going after their doctorates. We have teachers who have trained at the Joffrey Ballet, Alvin Ailey, Broadway Dance Center and The Steps in New York. Teachers have also trained at the Millennium Dance Complex, The Edge, and Brigham Young University. We have teachers who have received their Tap Master’s Credentials, graduates of Chapman University, Cal State San Bernardino, University of California Riverside, Santa Monica College, University of Irvine, and the University of Minnesota.
- Our Musical Theatre teachers have performed, produced, or choreographed for musicals locally and throughout Southern California. Our dance instructors who choreograph for our competition teams have themselves, at one time, competed on the competition circuit
- Here at Backstreet our technique is taught the proper way, without a lot of tricks. This is done so you learn the correct way.
- We offer family rates. By joining our studio, you receive a family reduction if there is more than one who wants to join from the same household. We offer one of the best family programs in Riverside.
- Phone calls are personally answered, and questions about our studio are always welcomed with a smile!
- We offer two annual recitals with opportunities to perform at fairs, schools, and city events. We have performed at Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm and have even performed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
- We offer a variety of classes from our “Tiny Tikes” classes, to our Pre- Ballet “Let’s Pretend” to a full range of just adult classes. Students are placed in appropriate classes based on age, prior training and ability. Students progress at different levels, so we assess each student on the level of ability, attendance and attitude.
- All students dance on sprung floors that are raised up from three to six inches off the floors. This is for the safety of the dancer and definitely helps prevent injuries. No students should ever dance on a covered cement floor. For this reason, we take special care in building our floors for the safety of our dancers.
- Last, but not least, we are not just a school, but a family with family values that are displayed in our choreography and costuming. Our dancers are treated as individuals, not mass produced. So, what are you waiting for? Come be part of our family, join the fun and choose the school that is right for you -
